ec1250. This rare travel charm features a nice relief portrait of the Castel Sant'Angelo (Mausoleum of Hadrian), a towering cylindrical building in Rome, initially commissioned by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family. With its unmistakeable cylindrical contour and particularly scenic position along the shore of the Tiber River, Castel Sant'Angelo is one of the town's most famous landmarks. The building, located in the rione of Borgo, spent over a thousand years as a fortress and castle, and is now a museum. The charm makes a fabulous memento of that special trip to Rome, Italy!
