Altenhundem is the central place of Lennestadt. It is located where the Valley of the Hundem on Lennetal true. Since the two valleys are very narrow, runs through most of the buildings on the slopes of the valleys, especially the valley of Hundemtales in the village of extensive but largely abandoned now Railroad is taken.
